John N. Zarian Appointed NCCCO General Counsel/Director of Administration

John ZarianMay 2016—John N. Zarian recently joined NCCCO in the newly created position of General Counsel/Director of Administration. John is based primarily out of NCCCO’s Western Regional Office in Salt Lake City, UT, and he is responsible for all NCCCO matters requiring legal review as well as selected administrative and organizational activities.

John has practiced law for 27 years and, most recently, spent almost five years establishing, and later managing, the Boise, ID, office of Parsons, Behle & Latimer, a regional law firm based in Salt Lake City, UT. John’s career has provided him with outstanding legal and administrative skills that will significantly strengthen NCCCO’s senior management team for the overall long-term benefit of the organization.

John’s legal practice has emphasized intellectual property litigation, particularly patent litigation, as well as complex business and commercial litigation. He has served as lead counsel in a wide range of matters involving patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, right of publicity, unfair competition, e-commerce, cybersquatting, contracts, business torts, antitrust claims, class actions, securities, and other commercial disputes.

Mr. Zarian is also an experienced trial lawyer. He was inducted as a Charter Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, a Trial Lawyer Honorary Society. He has successfully tried cases to verdict in courts throughout the country, and he is licensed to practice law in the states of Idaho, Utah and California, as well as the U.S. Supreme Court.

John earned his law degree from the University of Southern California. He also holds a Master of Science degree in Finance and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, both from the University of Utah, where he was elected student body president.
